Rare Endangered Animals

The destructive activities of man have endangered some animals to the extent of becoming rare. Some unusual animals are finding hard and difficult to survive. Habitat loss has forced many endangered animals to relocate themselves. But, relocation has not proved to be fruitful for all the endangered animals.

All the endangered animals could not adapt themselves in the new environment. With relocation, some animals fought hard for their survival whereas others submitted themselves to their fate. Some animals in the latter category, which survived the change, have been categorized as rare endangered animals. Here are some rare endangered animals:

Mexican Walking Fish: They are critically endangered, and on the verge of extinction. They are found near the coast of Mexico.

Goliath Bird Eating Spider: It is the biggest species of spider on the earth. It rarely eats birds, but feeds itself on bats and bugs. It is generally harmless to human beings, but is endangered due to destruction of habitat in the Amazon.

Whistling Spider: They are important to the ecosystem in which they belong. They are endangered because their natural habitat is under threat from human activities.

Weta: They are found in New Zealand, and are an important part of the ecosystem. They are harmless to man, but introduction of non-native species, pest eradication, and their ugly look has endangered them.

Giant Water Bug: They are found in the Amazon River basin. They are endangered due to the loss of their food. They prey on Piranha, which is a small creature living in the Amazon region.

Honduran Ghost Bat: They are a living creature in the tropical rainforests. Habitat destruction and climate change has made them rare endangered animals.

Crinoid Snapping Shrimp: They are the tiniest of all the snapping shrimps. They are often called Pistol Shrimp because they produce a loud cracking and shooting noise.

Giant Coconut Crab: They are found in the Pacific islands. They are named coconut crab because they can crack a coconut in a single swipe. They are not placed in the endangered animals category, but are believed to soon become endangered due to destruction of their natural habitat in the tropical rainforests.

Giant Palouse Earthworm: They are the largest earthworm on the earth. They are found in the eastern part of Washington state and Idaho. They are harmless to human beings.

Frigate Island Beetle: They are the largest of the tenebrionid beetles. They are endangered due to their loss of habitat.

Lord Howe Island Stick Insect: These endangered animals are non-poisonous. They are endangered due to their habitat loss.

Mallorcan Midwife Toad: This rare endangered animal plays a swapping role in child-bearing and child-rearing duties. The father takes care of their off springs from the beginning and even cares for them after. They are endangered due to their habitat loss.

Quacking Frog: They are known for the quacking sounds produced by them. The disappearance of frogs is a matter of concern for the scientists because they are considered as an indicator species.

Glass Frog: They are found in the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. The destruction of tropical rainforests has made them endangered animals.
