Physical Characters
2" (51 mm) long, 3/8" (10 mm) high. Slender, elongate. White, with red-edged purple bands on body and pincers. Antennae twice body length. 1st pair of walking legs nearly body length, hand of pincer long. Pincers and body surface spiny.
Range
Mostly available in Florida and West Indies.
Habitat
Mostly lives on coral reefs. This beautiful cleaning shrimp advertises its availability by standing in one place and waving its antennae to attract a fish in need of having its external and mouth parasites removed.
