Habitat
Found in tropical forests and grasslands, seeking refuge in forests by day and feeding in clearings and forest margins by night.
Description
The asian or indian elephant is smaller than the african elephant, and is noted for its smaller ears, domed forehead and rounded back. Not all asian bull elephants grow tusks, while most african bull and cow elephants have them.
Threats To
Loss of habitat and poaching for its ivory tusks.
