Habitat
Grey seals live primarily in the northern north atlantic in subarctic and temperate waters. They are divided into three groups, including the western, eastern and baltic groups.
Description
Length from 1.6-2.3 meters and weight of males 230 kilograms, and of females 150 kilograms. Dark grey in color with a few spots, their face has a long, wide nose with parallel vertical nostrils.
Threats To
Humans are the grey seals main enemy. Many arctic peoples use the grey seal for food, clothing, and insulation with little impact on their numbers. However, poachers hunt grey seals for their hides and can kill thousands of them in a single week.
