Animal Information for Kids
Kids are always fascinated with the sight of animals, and because kids are very quick learners, it's important for us to give them all the information about their favorite animals or animals they haven't seen. This will keep them busy as well as inquisitive to discover more about the unseen world. The grasping power of kids is also unique, which enables them to retain vast information. It thus becomes our personal responsibility to direct them in the right direction to cultivate innovation in them and come up with their own ideas. The market is flooded with information for kids. To be precise about animal information for kids, we have picture books, games on animals, video CDs and DVDs, animated movies and animal charts. Schools also offer a variety of books and quizzes for kids, which make them so sharp that they can beat their seniors as well as parents, when quizzed about a particular thing!

- Domestic Animals: Animals who are useful to human beings are termed as domestic animals. They are usually found in a farm and are known as farm animals. For example, a dog guards our house, a hen lays eggs, a cow gives milk and meat, and sheep gives wool.
- Pet Animals: Animals kept in the house for companionship and fun are pet animals. They are tamed to stay with humans and do not cause any major damage to human beings. They are also considered as helpers in the human world. Dogs, cats, mice, rabbits, hamsters are few pet animals.
- Wild Animals: Animals staying in the forests and jungles are wild animals. These can be dangerous to human life. Most of them are found in zoos for people to visit. Some of them are also seen in a circus. Lions, tigers, elephants, giraffe, monkey, camel, bear and deer, are few wild animals.
- Marine Animals: Animals living in water are called marine animals. Marine animals can be further classified as aquatic animals and amphibians. Aquatic animals live only in water, they die when they are taken out of water. For example, fish. Amphibians on the other hand can stay in water as well as land. Frogs, penguins and snakes, are a few examples of amphibians. Dolphins, crabs, jellyfish, seahorses, sharks, whales, and seals are a few marine animals.
- Insects: Insects are found everywhere around us. There are millions of species of insects. Some insect bites can be very dangerous and can cause various diseases. For example, ants, mosquitoes, bees, butterflies, beetles, centipedes, dragonflies, grasshopper, ladybirds, millipedes, moths, spiders, worms and wasps are a few to name.
- Reptiles: Reptiles are also known as crawling animals. Some reptiles change color to camouflage themselves from predators or potential threats. For example, chameleon. Dinosaurs are the first species of reptiles. They were much larger than the reptiles found today. Alligators, caimans, crocodiles, gharials, lizards, turtles, snakes, tortoises and tuataras are examples of reptiles.
